• What is in Eno River State Park?

Someone is trying to keep this quiet. I know what I saw and I can’t be the only one. I’m determined to figure it out.

If I tell my story, will you tell me yours? I promise I’ll keep it anonymous.

Leave a comment if you’ve been creeped out by something in there. Or maybe you had a similar experience somewhere else in the world? If we work together, we can uncover the truth.

This is what happened to me…

  • Druids: Cool AF or Crazy Mofos?

This is P’s favorite religion so far… except for the human sacrifices. The real question is did they sacrifice people? Because if they did and the carving in the Eno is somehow connected to them, this got a whole lot creepier.

I really knew nothing about the Druids other than the fact that they existed. How did I not know they might have been into human sacrifice?! I would have paid more attention in history class if someone had mentioned that.

I should say no one knows for sure if they actually sacrificed people. The Druids never wrote anything down because they believed their teachings were sacred…

    Paganism, Wicca and Witchcraft

My oldest friend has agreed to partner with me on all of the research. So I don’t have to always write “my oldest friend,” we’ve decided to give him a nickname. He didn’t like me calling him Floppy – that was his actual nickname when we were younger for his long, floppy bangs that always fell in one eye. Instead, I went with something he did.

The night before my 7th birthday, I got sick. To cheer me up, his mother drove him over to give me my present early. They gave me a Paddington Bear. I can’t even tell you how much I love Paddington so moving forward, we’re going to call him P…

  • I Got Scared

I’m sorry it’s been a couple of months. I panicked. Only one friend thinks creating this website is a good idea. When we had a fight, I just stopped.

Only a few people know what happened to me in Eno River State Park. All of them think this website is a bad idea. Even the friend who helped get my abandoned car, begged me to let this go. For them, either I had a mental break while I ran from a guy trying to assault me — and for them that’s the most likely option — or the people trying to hide whatever is in there are not the type I should be pissing off…

  • Not sure what to do…

    Not sure what to do…

Ever since I saw that Reddit post I wasn’t sure how to move forward. There are just so many things to research. I’m totally overwhelmed.

The topics mentioned are so big. Like should I be reading all about Druidism? Or Wicca?

I did look up occult imagery and found an illustration called Absolute Key to Occult Science by Gérard Encausse. It creeped me out, but despite all of the symbols on it, none of them are spirals.

Two people commented on that post since I videoed it saying “Time is a flat circle.” I googled it. This is from True Detective season one, quoting Friedrich Nietzsche…

  • Check out this carving!

I’ve been scrolling Reddit for months looking for anything that might tell me what’s in Eno River State Park — local subreddits, r/Paranormal, r/Unexplained… the last one is where I finally found this!

Someone shot video of this strange carving in Eno River State Park and posted it asking what people thought it was.

The carving of a woman has a spiral on it?!!! That has to connect to what I saw.

People responded that the carving means the spiral goddess, the Great Mother, Druidism, Wicca, witchcraft, Mother Earth… One said that spiral is carved on top of the woman’s womb…

  • Here’s what it looked like…

    Here’s what it looked like…

Someone asked me to draw one of the spirals. The flat ones looked like the Fibonacci sequence, BUT the 3D ones were different. Every time I tried to draw one, it just didn’t work. I’m not a good enough artist to do it on paper.

My oldest friend’s neighbor had extra chicken wire so we decided to build it instead. That’s his adorable cat in the photo. She helps give the spiral perspective on the size. They weren’t huge, but they weren’t tiny either. There were 3D ones like this that sort of looked like they grew out of the ground. ..

  • Elemental

    Elemental

I’ve been thinking about one of the stories posted in a comment. Her uncle’s friend was pulled into the river by something on the UNC Occaneechi site in Hillsborough in the 80s. There were other weird things that happened like hearing voices and objects moving around, but the big one was connected to the water. The guy was pulled into the river and held under for like a full minute. He was so freaked out he quit the dig.

That sounds nothing like what I saw, but maybe they could be connected? Remember old stories about the elements: fire, earth, air and water?..

  • The Fibonacci Sequence

    The Fibonacci Sequence

Just Google it. My head exploded.

The spiral made by the Fibonacci Sequence looks like the spirals I saw in Eno River State Park. There were some 3D ones, but the flatter twig shapes looked just like Fibonacci.

I’m attaching a picture of the number sequenced graphed into a spiral. Has anyone else seen this shape near the Eno?

Some people say it’s Mother Nature’s secret code so this might be a silly question. Eno River State Park is like 4500 acres of nature and the Fibonacci spiral appears all over nature – pine cones, leaf patterns, nautilus shells, pineapples, artichokes…

  • Indigenous Spirals

In my quick search for symbols and meanings for these specific tribes, I found nothing.

I did learn that UNC Chapel Hill has a dig site in Hillsborough of at least one Occaneechi village. This is close to the Eno. They definitely found pottery and some old, European goods, but there were no twig spirals from what I could find.

When I did a new search for the spiral symbol and indigenous people, sites came up connected to tribes in the southwest. The symbol is found on cave walls and pottery – there were no spirals on the pottery found in Hillsborough, only on the pottery out west…

  • No Spirals

    No Spirals

I can’t find any article on Eno River State Park that mentioned twig spirals.

There are other ruins in the park. The two-story Anthony Cole house looks almost as creepy as the photo I found of him and his wife, but the only supernatural story I uncovered was a website that mentioned seeing a ghost in the upstairs window.

His poor “spinster” sister was given a shack known as Sister’s House, a lovely reminder of how shitty it was to be female. The sketchy remains don’t have any mysterious stories behind it. One of the old Cole mills might be haunted, but again it’s more like traditional ghost stories…

  • The Cabelands

    The Cabelands

Over the years I’ve told a few of my closest friends. My best friend who took me to pick up my car thought I was out of my mind after being attacked. She didn’t believe me. Only my oldest friend took me seriously. He suggested I google The Cabelands.

The Cabelands are known as the haunted part of Eno River State Park.

Although it’s documented online, no official trail leads to this historic area. You need to take an overgrown dirt path to reach it. One haunted part is the cemetery. There are 12 marked graves, but they say there are 51 people buried there…

  • This is what happened to me…

I haven’t stepped foot in Eno River State Park, North Carolina, for years – not since I was attacked.

On that awful day, the park was quiet. I had gone hiking alone. I felt like it was only me and Mother Nature, but then I crossed paths with this creepy guy.

    He followed me.

I walked faster, slower, stopped in places, anything to lose him, but nothing worked. He was stalking me. I kept hoping someone else would show up, but it was a weekday. No one was around.

Then he made his move. He ran at me and knocked me down…
